Town & Country Non-Run

by Kim Jancewicz

It is said that that "Water is Life". With that being the case, Town & Country had a lot of "life".
It rained and rained and never stopped until 5:30 p.m.

Tom & I showed up at the Oakland Elks, Rt. 202 North, Oakland at about 1 p.m. We registered at the front desk which, was manned by happy but disappointed members of Town & Country. There were about 110 people there (T & C included). They had expected a lot more for this, their 50th anniversary. Needless to say, everyone received a commerative pin.

It didn't take me long to notice a red vest at one of the tables. It was Gloria Fidler who, was there with a friend.
They had a D.J. playing nice music. The ziti was a little overcooked. The meatballs and sauce were very delicious.
I think I had like 8 meatballs and, they were pretty big. The salad was good also. There were plenty of donuts (left over from the sign-in), cake, soda & water.

I'm proud to announce that our own Gloria Fidler won a door prize. It was a radio/clock. The big prizes were 11 inch and 13 inch color TVs. The 13 inch TV came complete with a VCR.

Several Bergen County HOG members were there. Butch from the Raritan Road Runners (along w/ two others) were there. Also there were a few Blue Knights and Time Givers (the clean & sober club) present. I really didn't "walk around" much. I was kind of stuck in a corner and didn't recognize anyone.

Of course, Tom & I wore our colors and showed Spokes-Women support. Hopefully, more spokeswomen members will attend the next AMA event.

Have a great day!
Kim
